Through a supportive and non-blaming approach, family therapy offers space for families to come to discover how changes in the way they communicate, manage conflict, or tolerate negative emotions can support our relationships or help loved ones understand how to support an individual’s treatment. Family therapy helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. In family therapy, you will learn the skills you need to get through stressful times and deepen relationships. Family therapy can be useful in any situation that causes anger, conflict, stress, or grief. You may work to generally improve troubled relationships or to address specific issues such as marital or financial problems, a conflict between parents and children, or the effects of substance abuse or a mental illness on the entire family. Families in therapy will learn new ways to interact and overcome unhealthy patterns for the benefit of the entire family. Family therapy can be used in conjunction with individual therapy or as its own form of treatment.

 

Couples therapy about coming together to be learn to be better partners. It’s not about blaming, finding fault, or criticism. Through couples therapy you will learn the tools and techniques to better communicate and understand one another’s needs. Couples therapists also work to remove the idea that being in conflict is bad or that you are doing something wrong because you disagree. Couples therapy provide a safe space to process and grow together.

 
 

Group Therapy

Group therapy offers an understanding and supportive environment to process feelings and learn new healthy coping skills. It is a time and space to be with others who are experiencing similar stressors and to gain support in each individual’s goals.
